Philadelphia Eagles 2006 Preview

Last season for the Eagles was one to forget. They had issues on and off the field. For the Eagles, the season ended in a couple of weeks. They finished an abysmal 6-10. Over the off season, they solved the Terrell Owens issue. He’s now with their nemesis, the Dallas Cowboys. Looking at the Eagles, they appear to be ready to move forward and get back on track. Unfortunately, the NFC East is going to be a rough division. Every team is expected to fight hard for the title.

Quarterbacks

I am not sure where to rank Donovan McNabb. He appears to be going the wrong way in his career. The 2006 season is going to be crucial for him and this Eagles offense. Many will be quick to blame last season on his injury and Owens. Will McNabb stay healthy this season? Will it matter? The Eagles brought in Jeff Garcia as a backup. He’s not the best quarterback out there, but he makes for a decent backup option.

Buy, Watch Or Pass – Week 6

QB’s

Kyle Boller, Baltimore Ravens 226 pass yds, 3 TD’s, 1 INT

Kyle Boller had the starting job for 3 years before the Ravens had seen enough. They brought in the injury plagued Steve McNair and thought they had solved all their quarterback woes. Unfortunately, McNair has not lived up to expectations and got hurt (again) in the loss to the Panthers last week. Boller came in and played well, however 2 of his 3 TD passes were the product of luck more than skill. They came off of tipped passes in the air that found their way into Mark Clayton’s hands. Boller has shown flashes of talent in the past, but is way too inconsistent. The Ravens have a BYE next week and expect McNair to return the following week. Don’t buy into this performance. PASS

Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers 344 pass yds, 2 TD’s

Before people get on my back about my “PASS” from last week, please note that he just went up and shredded

The History of Deion Sanders

Blessed with athletic ability few humans can match, Deion Sanders is one of sports record over-achievers. Born in the State of Florida on 9 August 1967, Sanders excelled in three sports while in high school: basketball, baseball, and football. While attending the State University of Florida, he dropped basketball to participate in track and field. He aided in winning the state conference championship for his track team, at the same time stealing plenty of bases on the baseball diamond. Nevertheless, it is on the football field that Deion Sanders really stood out. All this is according to the Deion Sanders biography/history available from many sources.

Deion was awarded the consensus All-American Title twice, the Jim Thorpe award, fourteen interceptions in his career and won the Sugar bowl with his team in 1988. In addition to stunning defense, he was excellent at punt returning. He is the finest punt returner in Florida State history, and led the

Satellite Tv Reigns Victorious In Sports Broadcasting Game

For anyone with an avid interest in sports, satellite TV is hands down the number one competitor in the game. No matter what your sport of choice may be, satellite TV is more likely to air it than any other television station provider. While most sports stations only deliver your standard baseball, basketball, football and hockey, satellite TV offers numerous stations devoted to the aforementioned in addition to a whole slew of other sports stations. The following is a list of just a few things satellite TV can bring to you.

More Games

Even though you’re sure to find your local baseball, basketball, football or hockey team on even the most basic stations, this does you no good if your heart lies in another state. If you moved from Chicago to San Francisco, for example, you’re going to care more about what the Bears are doing than the 49ers. With satellite TV, you’re sure to find your team no matter where you are.

ELIE SECKBACH TALKS TO NFL AND 49ERS SATR VERNON DAVIS

Myths of NFL Cheerleaders Unravelled

So there’s tons of cheerleaders out there dancing on the field and we never bother to get to know them. All we do is just stare at them dancing, think ‘oh they dance good, look good, typical cheerleaders’ and move on without a thought as to what really goes behind the scenes of an NFL cheerleader. Well, I am here to tell you that there is a lot more than meets the eye. All those movies you saw like “Bring it On” and those television shows that showed a bunch of drama queens as cheerleaders have got it all wrong.

Myth #1 – It’s easy being an NFL cheerleader.

Um. No. There is no way that it is easy being a cheerleader. So much goes into the auditions, that you’re lucky to even make it into the squad in the first place. Hundreds of girls try out and you have to be in the top 3% to make it in the squad, no kidding. They all dance good, look good, are energetic, enthusiastic, and have a great personality on top of all that. After they get

All About NFL Merchandise Jerseys

Millions of young football fans cherish the idea of wearing the NFL clothing representing their favorite National Football League team. What keeps many from that dream is the price. Some NFL merchandise is pricey, particularly good quality jerseys. Many are being sold for hundreds of dollars, and the higher the quality, or rarer the item, the higher the price. Of course, there are cheap knockoffs of authentic NFL merchandise, however most young football fans will tell you quickly that these simply aren’t what they want. They want clothing that looks good, and something close to a real NFL jersey. The NFL brand carries a lot of weight with them.

Of course some NFL jerseys sold in retail outlets or online aren’t the real thing. If you’ve seen a real NFL jersey hanging on a wall in a football pub, you know how huge they are. Two people can fit comfortably into them. The jerseys were design for large men wearing even larger shoulder pads. Only the quarterbacks and

Bears First in Sports History to Accumulate Victories, in Spite of Winning

Bears First in Sports History to Accumulate Victories, in Spite of Winning

The Chicago Bears won a total of 3 playoff games between the 1985 and 2006 seasons (21 years), out of a total of 11 games. They did not appear in the playoffs from 1995 until 2001, recording only winning season in that span. After securing home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs in 2006, they were assured of their third “final 8″ appearance in 6 years. A feat only 5 other teams can currently lay claim to (Philly-5, St. Louis- 3, Pitt-4, NE-5, and Indy-4). The Bears have celebrated one Super Bowl victory (many NFL championships, but just the one SB in ’85). Not much to be proud of unless you consider that there are 6 teams in the NFL who have never been to a Super Bowl at all, and 15 total that have never won a Super Bowl in its 40 year history.

With that kind of recent history, the Bears fans should be proud of the 2006 team for what they have accomplished to this point. Remember just 4 years ago, when the team didn’t even have a home

Big Tuna?s Impact on NFL Betting Odds

Bill Parcells, aka The Big Tuna, made a splash in his first year with the Miami Dolphins but the best could be yet to come. Miami is the host city for Super Bowl XLIV and while oddsmakers are giving them little chance of making an appearance. History shows it may not be as an unlikely as you think.

At the start of the 2007 NFL season online sportsbook had odds on the Miami Dolphins to win Super Bowl XLII listed somewhere between slim and none. Offensive-minded Cam Cameron was brought in; the club’s fourth head coach in as many years, to try and infuse an offense whose scoring had sunk to the depths of the league.

Those odds attracted very few bettors and as the Fish stumbled out of the gate, losing 13-straight games, the figures became a moot point.

Bill Parcells, aka The Big Tuna, was signed near the end of the season and began his rebuilding project by axing both Cameron and Randy Mueller, the club’s general manager.
