2009 NFL Week 14 Picks and Predictions – NFL Picks Week 14

I feel 2009 NFL Week 13 was a quite weird. Did Oakland beat Pittsburgh? Did New Orleans and Washington go to overtime? Does really Brett Favre looks human?

Any way, NFL Week 14 continues to entertain. The AFC wildcard race is completely up for grabs as is the AFC East and West divisional races and the NFC East and West have some uncertainty at the top.

Here are 2009 NFL Week 14 picks & predictions:

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Pittsburgh vs. Cleveland, 8:20PM ET

The Steelers have lost four in a row. This clearly tells how far Pittsburgh has fallen. However, they are playing the Browns and will get a win to stay relevant in the wildcard race.

Pittsburgh 20, Cleveland 10

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

New Orleans vs. Atlanta,

NFL Week 11 Predictions and Picks

NY Jets @ New England (-4):First place in the AFC East rides on the outcome of Thursday night’s Jets/Patriots showdown, a game in which quarterbacks Brett Favre and Matt Cassel will take center stage. While Favre’s status as a “gunslinger” is legendary, Cassel is known as a mostly conservative quarterback, and if there’s a knock against the Pats’ offense, it’s that it lacks big-play capability with Cassel.

“I pride myself on taking chances,” says Favre. “There’s not a throw I don’t think I can make, or a phone call. I’m as free with my passes as I am with Packer game plans. Cassel is strictly by the book. His idea of ‘taking a chance’ is changing the snap count from ‘one’ to ‘two.’ Lately, though, Cassel has shown some Tom Brady-like qualities. He’s looking for Randy Moss more, and he’s dating a hand model, whom I’m believe goes by the name ‘Lefty.’”

While the Cassel-to-Moss connection hasn’t produced nearly the same numbers as the Brady-to-Moss hookup did,

2007 Nfl Betting: Analyzing the Nfc South

2007 Nfl Betting: Analyzing the Nfc South

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (10-6 SU, 10-6 ATS): Sean Payton did the impossible in New Orleans last season, turning a moribund 3-13 team into a Super Bowl contender. With the return of QB Drew Brees, twin RB threats Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush, and emerging WR star Marques Colston, the offense is lethal. The defense also showed improvement under first year coordinator Gary Gibbs but lacked aggression, finishing 31st in the NFL in takeaways in 2006. The line, led by Charles Grant and Will Smith, is solid but the Saints need more big-play potential at linebacker and in the secondary. Still, an offense as potent as New Orleans’ will win a lot of games.

By the Numbers (Regular Season, 1998-2006)

SU: 64-80

ATS: 69-72-3

HF: 14-24-1

HD: 10-16-2

AF: 9-6

AD: 32-25

Sportsbook Buster: The Saints are 8-2 ATS their last 10 games versus the 49ers, who they play in San Francisco, Oct.

Clearing Up the Nfl Playoff Picture

Clearing Up the Nfl Playoff Picture

Usually at this point in the regular season, most of us can figure out who will be in the NFL playoff picture; at least for the most part. However, with just three weeks left in the NFL regular season, the playoff picture (excluding the current division winners) is as muddy as ever.

Starting with the AFC, the East is at a deadlock with Miami, New England and the New York Jets all tied for first place. Pittsburgh and Baltimore are only separated by a game in the North, who play each other this week. Tennessee has clinched the South, but those sneaky Colts seem very intriguing.(Shh! Don’t tell anybody but they’ve won 6 straight). And lets not even talk about the dismal West.

Now you can say all you want about New England and New York in the East, but you can’t say enough about the Miami Dolphins. No team has done what they have done thus far, turning a former 1-15 team into a legitimate playoff contender. And most give the credit to Bill Parcells,

Nfl – The Dallas Cowboys

Nfl – The Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are on of the most loved and hated franchises in all of football.  They are a professional team that plays in the National Football League and they are currently a part of the Eastern Division.  The Dallas Cowboys have been known for their consistency and their ability to flatten their opponents.  Over the years they have been one of the most dominant football teams in the NFL.  They have won a number of Super Bowls and enjoyed some intense rivalries with teams such as the San Francisco 49ers.

The Cowboys franchise was first created in 1960 as a part of the NFL’s expansion efforts.  When the team was first created they played in the Northern Conference but have since moved to the East.  In 1970, the NFL and AFL merged and the Cowboys were put in the NFC East and have stayed in this division.  Over the years the Cowboys have remained a strong presence in their division, winning 21 Division Championships and 10 Conference

NFL Power Rankings Week 13: Saints and Colts Stay Undefeated

Now, it’s time for NFLpower rankings week 13 and I’m ready to rank all 32 teams in our week 13 power rankings. The Monday night NFL game between the Patriots and Saints has just completed and the Saints make their statement.

We have reached week 13 with two unbeaten teams. The Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints have both beat the New England Patriots. The Saints and Colts are yet again in the top two spots, we can see two teams go 16-0 in the regular season. But at this point, the clear number one team in the league has to be Drew Brees and company.

In the week 13 NFL power rankings, there really isn’t any team more deserving of the top spot than the New Orleans Saints.

Week 13 NFL power rankings clearly show that it is going to be a tough path ahead for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tennessee Titans, who won their fifth consecutive game with a fourth quarter comeback on Sunday afternoon.

The Legacy Of The Detroit Lions

The Legacy Of The Detroit Lions

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the Detroit Lions are the city’s only professional football franchise. The team currently resides just a luxury sedan or limo ride away at Ford Field, located in downtown Detroit. Here are some team historical highlights:

The Lions weren’t Detroit’s first pro football team. In 1920, the Detroit Heralds were a charter member of the American Professional Football Association, but the franchise folded after two years. Then the Detroit Panthers formed in 1925, but that team also folded after two seasons. In 1928, the Detroit Wolverines were formed, but they failed after only one year. Finally, Detroit welcomed the Lions in 1934. The team originated in Ohio and was purchased for ,952.08 by a group headed by Detroit radio executive George A. Richards and then moved to Motown.

The Lions played in the University of Detroit Stadium before average crowds of 16,000 people. The new Detroit Lions won the NFL Championship

2010 NFL Predictions

The start of the 2010 NFL season is just around the corner, and while there are still a few  moves that will likely be made before week 1 action gets underway, we have a pretty good idea at what each team is going to be sending onto the field this season. Based on what has happened so far this offseason here is a look at my 2010 NFL predictions.

AFC East: I have the New England Patriots repeating as division winners in 2010, but should get a strong push from the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. Even after the Jets amazing run to the AFC Championship game last year, I believe that the Dolphins are going to top them for the No.2 spot in this division, while the Buffalo Bills finish way back in last place.

AFC North: The Cincinnati Bengals dominated this division in 2009, going a perfect 6-0, but I don’t think we will see that happen again in 2010. I have the Baltimore Ravens slated atop this division, as they figure to
